Weed addicition is a personality trait

I used to smoke weed all the time, for about 2 years straight I would usually smoke weed every day or every other day, spending over $100 a week on it. This was simply out of enjoyment, and I knew I could stop smoking it whenever I want, because I don’t have an addictive personality, and I told my friends I’m gunna cut down and stop smoking weed and they all said I couldn’t do it etc, so I proved to them that I could, I smoked my last joint then and didn’t smoke weed again for over 6 months, this was a year and a half ago, and I’ve not really smoked it since, now I can smoke a few joints and not be bothered to smoke again for another few months etc.

On the other hand, all of my friends apart from one, do have addictive personalities, and they cannot quit when they want, they say they can and they have tried and failed many times.

Obviously stopping smoking weed or stopping drinking after doing it for so long and so frequently can cause problems but not harmful problems, I struggled to sleep for a few weeks but after that I was fine.

Since I stopped smoking weed I got a girlfriend who I love more then anything, I passed my driving test and got my own car, and I’m soon to be starting up a business of my own. I’ve saved probably $5000 at least since I stopped smoking it frequently, and I’ll say it’s the best thing I did, I like that I can go to my friends houses while they are all smoking weed and just sit there and chill without having to smoke.

Weed changed my life and not for the better, weed is good IMO and it should be legalised everywhere, but it makes you lazy, forgetful and it becomes your priority.
